dreamhost就不说了，是很多国内“穷人”租用的老美提供的服务器空间服务。

最近邮箱里连续收到dreamhost ps(Private Servers)促销的邮件，手法值得学习。

第一封邮件：

邮件标题：You’re invited to DreamHost PS(看上去不错，让用户觉得自己是被邀请的，似乎得到了尊敬)

再看邮件主要内容：

* You get your own PROTECTED system resources for improved stability.
* You get more flexibility than regular hosting to run any process.
* You can scale your resources on the fly, and reboot your own PS.
* It’s currently only +$10/month for every 100MB of memory.
* It’s a completely seamless transition from our regular shared hosting.

oh~原来是要我花10美刀一个月去租100M内存的Private Servers服务，一年120美金，和我现在用的dreamhost服务价钱($119)没啥区别，但是似乎没能说服我换成这个服务。

第一封邮件置之不理。

二天后，第二封邮件来了。

邮件标题：Perhaps you’d like DreamHost PS if we gave you 33% off?(kao，我给你33%的价格下调，你接受不？)

邮件主要内容：

We can understand if you’re perhaps not interested at this time.. it’s
true the minimum extra monthly charge is $15 (for 150MB of resources).

But… what if we gave you $5 a month off… forever? What THEN?

Well, what if is what NOW… if you sign up in the next week (by 2009-04-13),
you’ll automatically get a 150MB DreamHost PS server for just $10/month…
forever! That’s 33% off (give or take .3333333333333333333333333…%)!

开头就说我们知道你可能对这个服务没啥兴趣，因此我们出血本让利给你，你还不要么？

可惜的是遇到我了，继续置之不理。

再过2天，第三封邮件来了。

邮件标题：Our final offer.. DreamHost PS for 66% off!(咱受了多大的委屈，最后一口价，下调66%，买了吧？)

主要内容：

Well, it’s hard for us to understand how you couldn’t give it a shot for
just $10/month (33% off). But not impossible for us to believe. What’s
IMPOSSIBLE for us to believe is if you don’t take advantage of this, our
final and greatest offer!

$10/month off.. forever. That’s 100MB free.. meaning you can get your

Awooooooga!

开头的这一段的确能吸引很多人，只是我继续无动于衷。

三封邮件到此结束，为什么这么便宜我还是不买？

不是我没有这个需求，能有PS服务总归比虚拟主机好，只是，我一直有一个疑问：这个PS服务是根据所使用的内存来收费的，基本上是10M/月/美金，超出就要收费，试问：DH你凭什么来判定我的使用超出了？你的这个凭据可信度有多高？如果你“乱收费”，那我怎么办？

如果DH不解释清楚这个问题，我想我还是不会使用这个服务的，哪怕比我现在用的要便宜的多得多。

1.将账户升级到unlimited Disk和unlimited Bandwidth,这两个无限是Dreamhost最近推出的一个计划，大概是因为DreamHost升级了他们的平台，当然这个升级到无限是完全免费的。

2.账户11月30日到期，又是一笔119.4美金等着我支付了。。。。。。。。。

由于家里台式机的机器配置不太好，因此自从给老婆买了MacBook后，这台台式机就一直空闲在一边吸收灰尘。

原本一直想把这台机器完全格了装LINUX，配置差点，运行Linux作为LAMP环境也还凑合，可惜一直没有时间去弄张CentOS的盘。考虑到国庆期间会有比较多的开发工作，今晚找了张XP的盘重新装了下系统。

so，台式机终于重新启用了——只做为WAMP的开发机器使用。

以前我一直在NOTEBOOK上开发，现在多了台机器做开发，怎么同步开发进度？很好解决，DreamHost提供一键安装SVN，我只需要把代码SVN签入签出就能保证代码一致了。

前几天，就cnopensource.com的发展进行了一些思考，顺着这个思路，今天完成了采用pligg在cnopensource.com上的平台搭建工作，也以lifangjin为用户名进行了初期的内容填充。平台中的细节部分我会尽快完成修改，但是对于一个网站而言，平台的搭建只是第一步，最重要的部分是推广和运营。

前几天和david一起出差北京，在去北京的飞机上，我粗略的向他提了一下和他的理想空间进行一些合作以推广新的cnopensource.com。大致的想法是提供我现在所使用的dreamhost空间作为奖品来吸引网友投稿，暂未很细致的想下去。

2007-11-29 – $119.40 for “My Crazy Domain Insane” through 2008-11-28.
119.4美刀，换人民币大约900多块，有点心疼，但一想到国内主机服务商的服务再心疼也买了。

由于windows下不支持.htaccess文件，因此将上面的代码保存为一个文本文件，将这个文本文件传到DH的空间后改名为.htaccess，然后在后台管理中的“基本设置-搜索引擎优化”中选择“URL 静态化”的相应的值，即可实现在dreamhost空间中的discuz的伪静态化。
伪静态化后的样例可访问：http://www.c3h3studio.com/
